Aide Pour La Mission Chretienne d'Haiti

Aide Pour La Mission Chrétienne d’Haïti, or APMCH, is Help for Haiti’s partner organization in Haiti.

Based in Cap-Haïtien, with work extending into Marmelade and other communities in northern Haiti, APMCH is a Haiti-based nonprofit led and operated by Haitian staff who live in and understand the communities they serve.

APMCH shares Help for Haiti’s mission to Feed, Educate, and Employ, and leads the day-to-day work of carrying out that mission on the ground.

Haiti-Led, Community-Focused

APMCH is chaired by Johanne Méléance, who also serves as Help for Haiti’s Executive Director. In this role, Johanne helps connect Help for Haiti’s support in the United States with the practical leadership, staffing, and implementation needed in Haiti.

The APMCH team includes program leaders, business coaches, finance and operations staff, food program staff, technicians, custodians, and security personnel. Together, they provide the structure and daily presence required to support students, families, schools, and entrepreneurs in northern Haiti.

Supporting Education Through Direct Relationships

APMCH helps support students and families through tuition assistance and scholarship programs in both Cap-Haïtien and Marmelade.

This work involves more than distributing funds. APMCH staff maintain relationships with parents and children, coordinate school administrations, and help ensure that support is connected to the real needs of each school community.

Education is central to Help for Haiti’s mission, and APMCH provides the local leadership needed to make that mission happen for students and families.

Feeding Students So They Can Learn

Through its food program, APMCH helps provide daily meals for students in APMCH-sponsored schools.

The team’s work includes food program management, quality control, clean kitchen practices, and the use of local ingredients alongside Mannapack meals. This reflects a practical commitment to both nourishment and sustainability - helping students receive the food they need while building systems that can be managed locally.

Encouraging Entrepreneurship and Self-Sufficiency

APMCH also helps execute Help for Haiti’s “Employ” work through small business loans, coaching, and entrepreneurship support.

Business coaches help participants prepare business plans, receive small loans, and continue developing their businesses after funds are disbursed.

The goal is not only to start businesses. It is to help people build stability, strengthen their communities, and take meaningful steps toward self-sufficiency.

A Shared Mission, Led Locally

Help for Haiti and APMCH work together toward the same mission: feeding, educating, and employing communities in northern Haiti.

Help for Haiti provides partnership and support from the United States while APMCH provides local leadership, implementation, and trusted relationships in Haiti.

Together, this partnership helps ensure that the work is not only well-implemented but also deeply rooted in the communities it is meant to serve.
