Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy
A Christian secondary education for Haitian students
Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy is a Christian values-based, academically rigorous secondary education program for Haitian students.
The academy is an initiative of Aide Pour La Mission Chrétienne d’Haïti and Help for Haiti. It reflects Help for Haiti’s broader mission to feed, educate, and employ communities in northern Haiti, with education serving as a pathway toward long-term growth and opportunity.
The school was created in response to longstanding challenges within Haiti’s education system, including limited access to high-quality secondary education, inconsistent instructional standards, and insufficient integration of moral and character formation within the learning environment.
Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy seeks to address these challenges by establishing a school grounded in strong academic standards, Christian formation, and disciplined institutional governance.
The objective is not simply to open a new school building. It is to build a structured, mission-driven academic institution capable of preparing students for national examinations, higher education opportunities, and ethical leadership in their communities.
“Kanpe Fèm”
In Haitian Creole, kanpe fèm means “stand firm” or “stand strong.”
The name reflects resilience, moral conviction, and steadfastness. These are the qualities the academy seeks to cultivate in its students. Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy is designed to form students who pursue academic excellence, demonstrate integrity and discipline, and stand firm in their character and faith.
Academic excellence
Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy operates within the national education framework established by Haiti’s Ministry of National Education and Professional Training.
Students receive rigorous instruction aligned with national curriculum standards and national examination requirements. The academic program emphasizes mathematics and science, analytical reasoning, language mastery, and critical thinking.
The academy seeks to demonstrate high standards of academic instruction, instructional quality, and institutional accountability.
Christian formation
Christian principles shape the school’s culture, character education, and leadership expectations.
Biblical values are integrated into daily school life, with emphasis on integrity, discipline, compassion, and service. The school’s purpose is not only to help students gain knowledge, but also to help them become morally grounded and socially responsible.
Multilingual education
Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy promotes strong competency in Haitian Creole, French, and English.
This trilingual approach strengthens academic performance and supports future professional opportunities. It also reflects the academy’s broader commitment to preparing students for continued study, meaningful work, and responsible leadership.
Preparing students to stand firm
Kanpe Fèm Christian Academy exists to educate students who are intellectually prepared, morally grounded, and socially responsible.
Through academic excellence, Christian formation, multilingual education, and clear institutional standards, the academy prepares students to stand firm in learning, character, faith, and purpose. Its mission is to help students grow into young people prepared for national examinations, higher education opportunities, and ethical leadership in their communities.
